Hi everyone I saw the rheummy yesterday he said my bloods showed that the RA is in remission I'm absolutely delighted although being a bit cautious - you never know with this wretched disease. I've been through this before- til the meds stopped working the first time! We'll see what the next tests show- but fingers crossed.... well as crossed as I can! Meanwhile- I'm enjoying the feeling. I always appreciate that up to now, I've been lucky in that my RA was caught early and has been fairly mild/ moderate, even though it hasn't always felt like it. Won't be rushing back to the pole dancing/ extreme sports though much love to all Maria x

Hi Maria I got a letter to say I was in remission too - I was a bit confused by it. I still have pain although I don't have swelling. My bloods never show anything anyway. Because I choose to be seen in Newmarket I only ever see the Rheumatologist, no support team or anything. I expect we will still get flares but hopefully we are safe for the time being! May the good times continue. Angie Be yourself - everyone else is taken. XX

Excellent news the two of you!! Hope you both continue to feel well and the disease keeps a low profile for a while to give you some respite. My RA has been well controlled on and off for many years but I wonder at what point do the powers that be say "it is in remission"? After 22 years with much of it active and considerable joint damage perhaps I'm beyond the point of remission!! When my meds were stopped for my knee op it became very clear how severe my RA is and despite anti tnfs that slow the progression the amount of damage is quite scary ... thought I wasn't doing to badly so just goes to show how much the medication can mask the reality. Anyway not to detract from your great news ... don't go overdoing it girls!! Lyn x

Thanks everyone for your replies and good wishes. I'm still beng cautious as you never know what's going to happlen. I still get aches and pains in my knees and hands although nowhere near as bad as before. I must not overdo i ut now learn to pace myself- athough I did go mad and spend a day in London with my brother on Saturday. Still- I did have a good rest and sleep on Sunday.Take care
Maria x
